Tonight Bowls NSW held its annual awards at the prestigious Kirribilli Club.

Other finalists in this category were - Wayne Crane, deceased (Warilla) and Tony Taylor (Belrose). Attendees didn't have to wait long before Crawford Linton's name was announced as Senior Bowler of the Year 2016.

Crawford is no stranger to the award he has won this previously in 2012 and 2014. In his acceptance speech Crawford was a little overwhelmed, he made special mention of his team mate Tony Taylor, partner in the State Pairs.

Crawford had many Zone 9 achievements during the past year.
However his State highlights included:
Member of NSW State Senior side.
Winner State Senior Singles.
Winner State Senior Pairs.
Not since the inception of Senior Bowler awards in 2005 has any bowler ever won both these events in the same year.

Consider this, Crawford played 4 consecutive days of 8 high intensity matches. He was on the brink of defeat on a number of occasions and could possibly have caved in. However Craw maintained the drive and determination to fight his way back into the games. That's champion material!!

Crawford also thanked Club Belrose, Andy Little the Men's Club President for his tireless work and support of the Belrose Bowlers, and of course Liz who puts up with a lot.

Thus wound up a great evening all round and it was back to the club for a nightcap.

Well done Craw you did all of us at Belrose proud.

Belrose Bowling Club congratulate all the other Winners and Nominees. You are all undoubtedly great individuals and bowlers, well done.
